What Snapbite does
Snapbite estimates food names, portion sizes, calories, and macronutrients from a photo. Results are estimates for everyday tracking and are not medical advice.
Food photos and AI processing
When you choose a photo, your browser compresses it and sends it securely to Snapbite. We pass the image to our AI processing provider, Qwen, to produce a nutrition estimate. Snapbite does not save the original food photo after analysis.
Meal history
If you save a meal, Snapbite stores the detected food names, edited weights, nutrition estimates, and the time of the entry. Records are associated with a randomly generated device identifier rather than an account. A copy may also be kept in your browser so your recent history remains available on that device.
Usage limits and technical data
To enforce the free daily scan limit and protect the service from abuse, we create one-way hashes from a device identifier and IP address. Raw identifiers are not stored in the usage table. Server logs may contain short-lived technical information needed to diagnose reliability and abuse.
Analytics
We use PostHog to understand page visits and product actions such as starting a scan, completing an analysis, changing a result, or saving a meal. Session recording is disabled. Nutrition results and uploaded photos are not sent to PostHog.
Feedback
If you send feedback, we store the message, category, interface language, submission time, and any email address you choose to provide. The email field is optional.
Your choices
You can clear Snapbite’s local browser data at any time through your browser settings. To request deletion of server-side meal history or feedback, use the feedback button and include a reply email so we can verify and complete the request.
Changes
We may update this notice as Snapbite changes. The latest version and update date will always appear on this page.
By using Snapbite, you acknowledge that AI nutrition estimates can be inaccurate and should be reviewed and edited before saving.
